How much is the security deposit?
- It is $300 for the security deposit.
Do I pay the rent by month or semester, do you accept Financial Aid Student Loan?
- The rent is paid by semester. Yes, we do accept Financial Aid Student’s Loan. We do ask students who will be using Financial Aid for their semester rent to provide us the proof of the Financial Aid documents as needed. For more information please contact our housing office.
Do I need to change any utilities or internet service into my name after moving into my apartment?
- No, all utilities and internet service is included in your room.
What should I bring with me to Oakland Hall?
- Here are some suggestions below for our tenants:
- Shower curtain
- Window curtains and extension rod for the curtains, you can contact our housing office if you have questions on your window size.
- Twin XL sized bed sheets, blankets, bedspread, sheets, and pillow
- Over the door mirror
- Kitchen supplies (pots, pans, etc.)
- Microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, coffee or tea maker, etc for your in room cooking needs
- Television
- Router and internet cable, you can contact our housing office if you have questions on your router. Internet is provided, your router will provide a good range Wi-Fi for your room.
- First aid kit
Am I allowed to rearrange the furniture in the apartment?
- Yes, you are allowed to rearrange the furniture space to your liking in your apartment.
How will the tenants get into their buildings and their rooms?
- The tenants will be given key cards that they can use to access their room and get into the building.
Are the floors Co-ed?
- Yes, the floors are co-ed. The apartment is first come first pick. You can pick any available apartment location on any floor that you think is best for you.
If a tenant wants to get cable, how much would that cost?
- There are different plans provided by Comcast with different prices. For more plans and pricing information, please check with Comcast.
What is located around Oakland Hall?
- Oakland Hall is in a good location because it is in the middle of everything. Not only is it a short walk from IUP’s campus, but it is also located near the campus’s Zink Hall, gym, and tennis court. It is also located near many restaurants, and is close to the grocery store. There are also many IUP bus stops located conveniently near the building.
